fighting philosophy
Kung Fu roots in imitating animal movements. Does that mean a human being wants to become an animal? The human being is an extraordinary animal. He has reached a point in evolution that no other being on this planet has reached. He is able to control his instincts and animal behavior. Imitating animals seems like a step back in evolution. We know now that the human being has to protect and sustain all other beings. Anyone who has not yet understood the meaning of protecting and sustaining has not yet grasped the meaning of being human. In the animal world living means struggle for survival – but the human being can find a way of living together without defeating or hurting someone. Fighting here has a different meaning. Back to Kung Fu and the animal world: This is an open letter to all who think of themselves as good fighters. Shark and crocodile teeth are known to be sharp. Can a human being bite or tear like they can? No! Antelopes jump 4 meters high – can a human being jump that high? No. A gepard is very fast. While gaining speed he concentrates, catches and tears another animal. Is there anyone as fast as this gepard? An elephant can pull a tree with his trunk out of the soil and lift it. No human being in this world is that strong. Any donkey, zebra or kangaroo can kick harder than any Kung Fu fighter. Is a Kung Fu fighter able to fight against viruses inside him? Can he fight with an african elephant? So fighting and the ability to fight is always relative. The best martial art fighters in this world will be exhausted and tired after 2 hours of fighting. They will be so exhausted that they can not even wipe their nose. Exactly in this moment any fighter can tear them apart. Then what is the meaning of “I am a good fighter?” The fighters of the world of martial arts can make people believe many things. But there are parallel worlds in which things are a little different: A small bullet can throw a national, continental and a world champion on the ground. In the history of China you can see that a soldier kills a kung fu master. Is this soldier a better fighter? On the American continent stupid soldiers killed great indian sorcerers and chiefs. Were these stupid soldiers and world conquerers better fighters? In the history of Kung Fu To‘a a stupid blind soldier shot into the leg of grand-master Mirzaii (and thus throwing Kung Fu To'a into the catastrophic stage it is in today) Was he a better fighter? Back to fighting and martial art fighters. What about the great martial art fighters of today – do they think about their old age, when they are 70 years old? If they become sick? Anyone who claims for himself not to get sick because of his strong inner powers is sick right from the beginning. Any human being will die of some organ deficiency or of some disease finally. Until today no fighter exists who won the battle over death. I suggest that martial art fighters look at fighting as an art and develop their skills instead of increasing their animal powers and character. A few tips for all martial art fighters and grand-masters of the world: You are not stronger than an elephant, you can not kick like a donkey, you can not jump like an antelope, not bite like a shark, not sting like a mosquito and you can not run like a gepard. Since you are born you have stepped into a never ending fight: the fight against your own stupidity. Maybe you can still win the battle as long as you are alive. The remedy: good thoughts - not competitive ones, the people around you are not any better or any worse than you are, good words, good behavior. Because of your own problems you may not use others to relieve yourself and even less so make a philosophy out of it. It is better to find the roots of your problems in your childhood and resolve them. Use a punching bag- it does not hit you back - or punch a trunk of a tree. We may make use of techniques of fighting and perfect them, in order to develop and mature. Those techniques are manifold and not limited to one sort of physical fighting. Do not think of this text as hostile. Try to understand that you are not extraordinary. Every individual is special. There are small skinny mothers on this planet who are about to starve of hunger due to our stupidity and they are fighting for their children. They are real fighters. A grain of sand can disable you to fight. Finally what are you fighting for? You want to control someone? That is all? A strong character does not need to control anybody.
Are you a good fighter? It is all relative.
